HYALURONIC ACID DIFFERENCE

HYALURONIC ACID is a high molecular weight substance belonging to the group of glycosaminoglycans having a relative molecular weight of 0.04-3.0 million g/mol. It consists of approx. 1,000 to 10,000 disaccharide units in the form of long, unbranched chains. The disaccharide units are composed of one molecule each of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. Hyaluronic acid occurs as a physiological constituent of the intercellular ground substance of connective tissue, in the vitreous body of the eye and in synovial fluid.
